It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the opportunity.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her debut and seven world titles have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there Healy was in motion.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this World Cup need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
