Nigel Farage Accuses Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede dismissed the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with education – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
