Pep Guardiola has admitted experiencing "embarrassment" after a confrontation with a camera operator subsequent to the Citizens' loss at Newcastle this past weekend.

When the match concluded, an emotional Guardiola stepped onto the field and engaged in intense talks with match official Sam Barrott and Magpies midfielder Bruno Guimarães, while also handling the headphones of the camera operator.

"I apologised," the manager remarked. "I'm humiliated, regretful, looking back. I don’t like it. I apologised after one second to the operator. That's just me. With a thousand matches under my belt I’m not a perfect person, errors happen."

"What is for sure, I defend any team and my club, that’s for sure. The reason why I want to defend my team is clear – because from my experience to win the Premier League we need near-perfect totals, high nineties, or we fall short."

Team Standing and Guardiola's Assessment

The team sits in third and are seven behind the Gunners after what was their fourth league defeat of the season. "Four defeats in twelve matches we have to improve a lot," he conceded. "Technically, we can still achieve all."

On the subject of his talk with the Newcastle player, the coach explained: "I've known him for many years and post-match, home or away, we converse. Our paths always cross and we get along well. I enjoy it. I’m an emotional guy, I love to talk and gesticulate."

Guardiola would not be concerned if an opposition manager addressed his squad right after the final whistle.
