A Pig's Tale: Hog Named Six Seven Pardoned by Miami-Dade Leader.

While perhaps not at the identical stature as pardoning Thanksgiving turkeys, but the Miami-Dade County mayor had her own presidential-style act this week by ceremoniously saving the life of a pig named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava executed the holiday gesture at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the core of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. She is worthy of this pardon. She has committed zero crimes,” stated the mayor in a speech with clear references to the sheer volume of executive clemencies issued from the start of the commencement of a current administration.

“Except perhaps for eating six or seven apples per day,” she went on. “Let this swine have a prosperous future away from worry.”

The gathering, either celebrating or rejecting the local cultural practice of eating roast pork during the holidays, was created to emulate the traditional fowl clemency at the White House.

The animal, contributed by a Coral Gables firefighter, was given its name from the current slang trend of young people exclaiming “six-seven” – deriving from a hip-hop line – often seemingly at random. The trend became so ubiquitous that a leading lexicon site recently named “6-7” its 2025 word of the year.

A Future Secured

Six Seven the pig is now set to enjoy its days at a countryside refuge “far from charcoal and roasting pans”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“The pig pardon has become a beloved tradition to begin the holiday season,” said the event host, in a decidedly positive message.

“It embodies the character of Miami: joyful, varied, and based in heritage that unite the community. Each year, we are proud to celebrate culture and compassion in a way only Miami can.”

Attendees enjoyed a vegetarian menu of spinach fritters and Cuban coffee as they toasted the swine's new lease on life.
